The Middle East is an area where automobile is king and fuel is inexpensive, frequently leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.
But this year, as protests across the Middle East have actually pressed up the rate of oil, the issue of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints in the world, one organization is taking advantage of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
